Graduate Programs

“We intend to continue the traditions that have been built here by developing great clinical programs and by creating outstanding research programs.”

- Larry R. Kaiser, MD FACS, Senior Executive Vice President for Health Sciences, Temple University, Dean, Temple University School of Medicine, President and CEO, Temple University Health System

Students who aspire to lead the biomedical advances of tomorrow in academia, government and industry seek admission to Temple University School of Medicine’s PhD and MD-PhD degree programs -- programs with a reputation for producing graduates with the skills and savvy that these challenges demand.

The number of PhD and MD-PhD candidates Temple can accept depends on the grant funding status of key faculty.  Although this is the standard mode of operation in academic medicine, it is a formula that limits the growth potential of Temple’s exceptional graduate studies program.

Donors who endow graduate fellowships at Temple University School of Medicine remove the faculty grant contingency from the equation, guaranteeing a stable, funded position for an exceptional student.
