Temple University Hospital-Episcopal Campus

Founded in 1852, Episcopal Hospital was the second-oldest continuously operating hospital in the United States. In 2002, the hospital was transformed from a general acute care hospital to a campus of Temple University Hospital.
Episcopal Campus is now the main location for Temple University Hospital’s behavioral health services. These include 118 inpatient psychiatric (acute and extended acute) beds and an emergency Crisis Response Center. The Campus also contains a full-service Emergency Department that treats more than 45,000 patients annually and a 21- bed inpatient medical/telemetry unit for patients requiring a short hospital stay. A wide range of outpatient radiology services, including diagnostic, MRI, CAT scan, Dexa Scan and Mammography services are also available. Laboratory services are also offered.
Episcopal Campus serves as a clinical training site for Temple University Medical School. Social work and nursing students from Temple University, Villanova University, Abington School of Nursing, Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing and the Roxborough School of Nursing also utilize the Campus for their clinical rotations. Temple’s Episcopal Campus houses the Temple Transport Team (T3), an ambulatory service transporting over 7,000 patients annually. The campus is located in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, in the middle of the city’s largest Latino community.
